Why our puppies are different.

What makes our program stand out.

01

Health Tested Parents

At Vino and Vespa Doodles, we prioritize the health and happiness of our parent dogs, as we believe this is the foundation for raising exceptional puppies. Our parent dogs are not only well-behaved and friendly, but also undergo genetic and health testing to ensure they're the best examples of the Goldendoodle breed. By starting with healthy, well-tempered parents, we can confidently breed puppies that inherit these wonderful traits. We're dedicated to setting the standard for what a Goldendoodle should be, and it all begins with our incredible parent dogs.

02

pregnancy/whelping care

At Vino and Vespa Doodles, we pamper our expecting mothers with exceptional care throughout their pregnancy. Our dams receive regular veterinary check-ups to ensure they're in optimal health. As their due date approaches, we transition them to a cozy whelping area to help them feel relaxed and comfortable. During whelping, we provide delivery assistance as needed, ensuring a safe and stress-free experience for both mom and puppies.

03

ens / esi

At Vino and Vespa Doodles, we prioritize the earliest stages of our puppies' development. From the moment they're born, we implement a comprehensive program of early neurological stimulation (ENS) and early scent introduction (ESI), starting at just 3 days old. This program, which runs until day 16, includes gentle handling, daily weight monitoring, and sensory experiences. By prioritizing ENS, we're enhancing our puppies' cardiovascular health, building stronger heartbeats, and fostering more resilient adrenal glands. This leads to improved stress tolerance and a stronger immune system. Meanwhile, ESI helps our puppies develop a great sense of smell and confidence, laying the groundwork for a curious and adventurous spirit.

04

Ten step handling

As our puppies reach 3 weeks old, we transition to a more developmental program, guided by the Badass Breeder approach of Jeanette Forrey and 4E Kennels. We introduce a daily '10-step puppy massage' routine, gradually increasing pressure over time to stimulate their growth and resilience. Additionally, we implement a range of handling exercises to acclimate our puppies to diverse types of touch, handling, and sensory experiences. This includes gentle interactions with their eyes, nose, mouth, collar area, tummy, back, tail, ears, and paws, preparing them to be confident and calm in the face of new experiences.

05

curriculum

Starting at 3 weeks, we expand our puppies' world by introducing them to a diverse range of sounds, visuals, textures, and interactive experiences. We prioritize empowerment over enablement, presenting our puppies with daily physical and mental challenges that foster resilience and confidence. By doing so, we strengthen their nerve and problem-solving abilities. Our ultimate goal is to provide a nurturing and enriching environment for the first 8 weeks of their lives, laying the foundation for a well-rounded and adaptable puppy.

06

temperament testing

When our puppies reach 7 weeks of age, we administer the Puppy Temperament Test, as outlined by the Badass Breeder Program. This test evaluates crucial temperament traits, ensuring we match each puppy with the perfect family, lifestyle, and needs, while also respecting the unique personality of each puppy. Following the testing and veterinary checks, families will have access to evaluation videos and scorecards, providing valuable insights to make an informed decision on go-home day. Please note that puppy selection will be made in the order of our waitlist, to ensure a fair and transparent process for all families.
